How the app connects to your installation and handles the data needed to show incidents and send notifications.

Last updated: October 30, 2026.

Your i7y installation

The i7y app connects to the server you provide. The organization responsible for that installation manages its accounts, permissions, and infrastructure and incident data. Access and retention practices for data held on that server are determined by the installation operator.

Data used by the app

When you sign in, you authenticate in the browser of your chosen installation. The app receives a session and account information supplied by the server, such as an identifier, name, and email address. The session is stored in the device’s secure storage. The app also stores the installation address and preferences needed for the connection.

To display incidents and enable authorized actions, the app exchanges information with the server, including status, affected resource, history, and evidence. When you claim, extend, or resolve an incident, the installation may record that action in its audit history.

Optional notifications

If you enable notifications, the app registers a device delivery identifier with the i7y notification service. Your installation server receives limited authorization to send notifications to that connection. The device identifier is stored in encrypted form in the gateway.

Notifications pass through the i7y gateway and Apple or Google notification services, depending on your device. A notification may include the alert name, resource, severity, status, assignee, and deadline, as well as identifiers needed to open the incident. Evidence and further details are retrieved from the server after authentication. Notifications may appear on your lock screen, so consider your device’s privacy settings.

Security and retention

The production app uses HTTPS to connect to the server. The service maintains operational records needed for delivery, security, and diagnostics. The installation and gateway retain data as needed for their purposes and applicable obligations; retention of installation data is determined by its administrator.

Your choices and requests

You can disable notifications in the app or system settings and sign out of the app. Signing out or disabling notifications does not automatically delete your account or the history held by your installation.

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of data held by your installation, contact its administrator. For questions about the app, notifications, or privacy requests concerning the i7y service, email i7y@devi.tools.

This policy may be updated when the app or its services change. The current version will be available on this page.
